rocken. Mit I Tank U veröffentlicht Marco Haas aka T.Raumschmiere im September endlich sein nächstes großes Album! Und es ist ein echtes Fest, denn I Tank U erscheint wie das große Finale eines Triptychons zu den beiden Mute Alben Radio Blackout und Blitzkrieg Pop. I Tank U bringt eine Entwicklung auf den Punkt: dunkle Electronica, Techno-Geschichte und Songwriting verpackt in eine grandiose Rock Platte. Jedenfalls rockt es gewaltig, was er, folgerichtig auf seinem eigenen SHITKATAPULT Label, als großes Feature Album veröffentlicht.\u003Cbr \u002F>\nDie Liste der Gäste hat sich wahrlich verlängert. Nicht nur, daß man hier genauer als zuvor eine Band spielen hört, auch das Songkonzept (keine Tracks) wird durch die vielen Gast Vocalisten immanent. Viele Namen überraschen dabei im ersten Moment: die notorischen Energie-Rapper von\u003Cbr \u002F>\nDeichkind mit The Crack Whore Society auf dem Abgesang Brenner und die Animal Territory Alien Rapper des Puppetmastaz-Kollektivs, der große Tim Vanhamel von dEUS und Millionaire, das Künstler Duo Warren Suicide (welche mit ihrer Multimedia Perormance den Abend eröffnen werden), sowie die Niederländerin Lilian Hak und Neu-Berlinerinnen Barbara Panther und Gene Serene.\u003Cbr \u002F>\nDoch am Ende ist I Tank U eine sehr kompakte Platte, die ihre Brüche geniesst: Rock-Schleudern, rappende Techno Beats, verschrobene Patterns, Geister Melodien und bretternde Front Säue liefern sich kein Rennen, sondern beschreiben einen Bogen, eine Kurve, eine Einheit: Dies ist eher ein elektronisches Rockalbum denn ein rockendes Elektronik Album.\u003Cbr \u002F>\nDas mag auch gerade an dem auffallend dichten Sound liegen. Die live eingespielten Drums und Gitarren (Ben Lauber und Andi Paruschke von der T.Raumschmiere Live Band, assistiert von Allert Aalders, dem Live Sound Mann der Band) treffen auf generierte Synth Sounds, verzerrte Bässe, kreischende Räume und warme Tiefe. Es ist dieser unglaubliche Druck der\u003Cbr \u002F>\nAufnahme, der alles zusammenhält und noch dem gepegelsten Knarzen Sinn gib, kongenial analog abgemischt von Moses Schneider (Tocotronic, Beatsteaks).\u003Cbr \u002F>\nDub Trio sind DP Holmes (Gitarre, Keyboards), Stu Brooks (Bass, Keys) und Joe Tomino (Drums, Melodica, Keys). Electronica, Rock, Punk und Heavy Metal treffen auf Original-Dub à la King Tubby. Ob als Live-Band von Mike Patton’s Projekt Peeping Tom, welcher ihnen auch seine Stimme für Songs wie Not Alone oder No Flag geliehen hat, oder als Dub Trio: Die drei rocken was das Zeug hält, bringen aber auch Studio-Effekte live auf die Bühne. Alle Bandmitglieder haben, live oder im Studio, mit grossen Artists wie Mobb Deep. Macy Gray, The Fugees oder Mos Def zusammengearbeitet. RAUMSCHMIERE is Marco Haas, born in Heidelburg, Germany in 1975. Industrial, punk rock and hardcore gave Marco his first musical direction. Soon the rallying cry “stay anti” became a way of life. In the early ’90s, Marco drummed with the classic hardcore band Zorn (translation: anger), performing more than 300 shows around Europe and releasing two albums on Maximum Voice Records (Leipzig).\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>In 1997 Marco won a contest with his rock band Stormbow, which financed the making of their debut record. The Stormbow release was the first on Shitkatapult, the now infamous record label he founded with Marcus Stotz in Heidelberg. William S. Burroughs died in the same year and gave Marco his solo moniker for electronic music, T.Raumschmiere. The name is a cut-up from the title of the short story “Die Traumschmiere” (translation: The Dream Cops) by Burroughs. The German title unfolds several different connotations: TRAUM = dream, subconscious etc., RAUM = room, space, venue etc., SCHMIERE = grease, lubricant, smear, spread (but also slang for police). At this time, Marco was also working with Ulli Bomans on a project called SHRUBBN!!, based on noise improvisation.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Moving to Berlin in 1998, Marco got busy fine-tuning his sound ideas for T.Raumschmiere and experimenting with dark matter, dirty noises and eternal reverbs. The first tracks under this new name appear on the compilation series Cozmick Suckers (Shitkatapult). Around this time, he also began work on a stage project called Pop Poisoned Poetry featuring Miss Tigra and kicked off a monthly event called Erlosung Durch Strom (translation: salvation through electricity).\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>In 2000, the first T. Raumschmiere records were released. He made his debut as King of Gnarz on Shitkatapult with the mini LP Stromschleifen. Cologne based label Kompakt released the 12″ Bolzplatz (‘gnarz-shockers from hell’) and Sender Records from Berlin put out Himmel uber Berlin, which included the smash hit H-Babe. At this time, T.Raumschmiere established his minimal, funky but dirty style techno.
