Critically acclaimed musician Bilal is once again ready to set the music world ablaze with “Back To Love”, the first single from his highly anticipated album, “A Love Surreal.” The single gives fans a glimpse of Bilal’s unique ability to reinterpret jazz, soul, and funk for today’s audience. The album, which Bilal calls an audio art gallery or musical museum, was inspired by the surrealist paintings of Salvador Dali. Overall, the goal of the album was to create music that mirrored Dali’s art with instruments as well as discuss the many facets of love. “A Love Surreal” features appearances from Robert Glasper & musical trio, KING. Bilal is considered by many to be an icon in the world of neo-soul, but he would define his “genre-blending music” as more of a fusion of funk, rock and jazz. Bilal became an institution in Urban culture after his critically-acclaimed debut, First Born Second, was released in 2001. He has collaborated with legends such as The Roots, D’Angelo, Common, and Erykah Badu, and despite label politics preventing an official follow up album until now, Bilal has toured around the world for the past decade, branding his signature falsetto, and building a loyal cult fanbase.
