From the minute Shanta Venkatesh stepped into the world, her parents knew she was no average child.
Early on, Ta’Shan came to embrace both of her parents’ cultures. Her father, who is of Indian descent, encouraged her to learn about her roots. As a child, she traveled back and forth from India to Switzerland. Fluent in German/French/English, she was able to converse with almost anyone she came across in her travels. In the midst of all this, Ta’Shan also began watching her family of musicians’ work and travel within the industry. They inspired her to create music of her own.
By middle school, she joined a gospel chorus and began touring with Freddy Washington. Afterwards, she attended classes at the highly renowned Conservatory of Music in Switzerland. By 14, she was in the studio honing her craft, but not releasing music just yet. Many other Swiss artists were starting to take notice of her, and she began collaborating with them on various projects.
By 2012, Ta’Shan was ready to take her career to the next level. She traveled to Los Angeles, CA and vowed to make the most of her time spent there. She established many strong connections and began working with some of the top music industry professionals. They admired her strong work ethic and persistence.
After a few months, she returned back to Switzerland, armed with the knowledge to make her dreams a reality. With a well-anticipated EP dropping soon and amazing visuals to match, Ta’Shan is poised to make her mark in the record books.
Branding herself with the genre coined as “Urban/Pop”, her lane is wide open and her voice will be heard just the way she wants it to be, LOUD and CLEAR.
