Over the years, Unders (Duncan Meulema) has been fortunate enough to do a lot of exciting things in the world of dance music. He has been playing all over the world, with recent trips taking him to South Africa, Berlin, Mexico, Burning Man and San Francisco. In the Netherlands he has performed on events such as Time Warp, Awakenings, ADE, and Welcome To The Future and a balanced mix of the snazzy venues the Dutch have to offer. Unders’ productions also resonated internationally; appearing on renowned record labels: BlaBla, Sound Architecture, and Eklektisch with remixes from artists such as Martin Stimming, Satori, Nuno Dos Santos, Affkt and Edu Imbernon.

As a promoter, Duncan has been hosting label nights and events for the likes of Dirtybird, Connaisseur, Cadenza, and Supplement facts, as well as Amsterdam’s underground hotspot Studio 80. He’s cofounder of the Dancefair Expo, an annual two-day educational convention for DJ’s and music producers. The most recent edition welcomed over 5000 attendees.

The last couple of years his focus has been on the studio, travelling, meeting new people, and finding a more laidback attitude towards the whole rat race that is the music scene. Now it’s all about trying new tools and instruments; experimenting with his studio workflow and a new live act with 2 talented musicians launching in 2016. As a DJ he’s always looking for pieces with a lasting quality; timeless sounds and stories to add to the collection he has built over the past fifteen years. His residency at beach club Whoosah, gigs at Africa Burn, the Robot Heart bus at Burning Man, Mexico and Berlin, plus releases on Sincopat, SolSelectas and Groove On seem to hint that Unders has found his place.
