Throes + The Shine were born in 2011 in the heart of Porto. They are Marco Castro, Igor Domingues and Mob Dedaldino. This group represents a communion between Portugal and Angola, being characterized by a hybrid of kuduro (Angola’s explosive dance music), electronic sounds and rock ferocity. Their stage presence is tremendously exciting and contagious: moving bodies and smiles are the common denominator in the crowds that are present on their shows.
Since 2011 the band has been touring constantly, having started to trail outside of their own country in 2013, passing through festivals such as Roskilde (DK), Lowlands (NL), Rock En Seine (FR), NOS Alive (PT), Paleo Festival (CH), Colors of Ostrava (HR) and many more in over 200 shows they played in over ten countries around Europe and South America.
In between these heavy touring duties they have released two records (Rockuduro [2012] and Mambos de Outros Tipos [2014]) on Lovers & Lollypops, an independent record label from Portugal, and a third record on Discotexas (Universal/!K7) called Wanga (2016).
They are now preparing to release in March/April 2019 an ambitious new record, that is a wild new path for the trio and are keen to cross new borders and take their cultural blend to every corner of the world.
